World's Best Presentation Tips is a series of posts where presentation bloggers from all over the world share their favourite posts with us at All About Presentations. This is an exclusive for AAP readers. Today's Blogger: Oliver Adria from ReThink Presentations One core message.. and the Elephant Oliver shares with us why he has chosen this post. He writes, "This is my favorite because I think just by changing the notion of presenting you can already have a really big and positive impact. So, instead of starting with writing the introduction slide, or even before conceptualizing the presentation, I think it's really, really important to first find out: "What do I want to say? What's that one core message I want to convey during this presentation?" If people started (and ended) a presentation and its preparation with this, I think there would be much more effective presentations. I have written several other posts around this idea on this on my blog...

This is an exclusive for AAP readers. Today's Blogger: Edfk from Clearly Presentable Ed Fidgeon-Kavanagh (edfk) shares his favourite posts: "My favourites that I have written in the last while are as follows: 4 questions you should think of when putting your logo in your slides One of the biggest problems that I see time and time again is that the presenter is determined to have the logo of his or her organisation slpashed across each and every slide in the presentation. Not only does this waste valuable slide real-estate and look ugly, it does nothing to enhance the message whatsoever. Time to get rid of that logo! The dangers of being seen as "slick" Many presenters aim to be as "slick" as possible, but the funny thing is that a lot of the time this can actually be a bad thing. I...

I had written about his talk at TED India (held in Mysore last year) earlier in the year.  Today, it is my pleasure to interview Dr. Devdutt Pattanaik on All About Presentations. Vivek: How was your experience of talking at TED? Dr. Devdutt: It was very exhilarating. Did not know the impact until much later. Vivek: How did you prepare for the TED talk? How much time was spent in preparing? Dr. Devdutt: I had many versions of the presentations. There was so much to say and so had to edit it many times. This was version 5. Vivek: Did you rehearse your talk? If yes, how did you rehearse? Dr. Devdutt: Normally, I don’t need to prepare. Normally, I don’...

In this interesting post, Ellen quotes scientific research and connects 'talking on cell phone while driving' to making a presentation. Thanks...

This is an exclusive for AAP readers. Today's Blogger: Kathy Reiffenstein from Professionally Speaking Kathy Reiffenstein shares with us this small note. "I am honored to be invited to participate in this initiative. I looked over my posts (I’ve been blogging for 3 years now) to see which ones struck me as “favorites” and I came up with two choices." "One is a series of 3 posts I wrote about the power of language. I am always amazed at how much the choice of words and the organization of those words into phrases or sentences has on the impact and memorability of any message. And to think that most of the rhetorical devices that create such power were originally developed by the Greek orators over two thousand years ago. So I wanted to share with the readers how easily they can leverage the power of...
